The Winter/Spring 2025 Arts Programme will feature a stellar line-up of literary music and talent including award-winning American poet Billy Collins and bestselling Scottish artist Barbara Dickson.

Since opening its doors in 2016, Seamus Heaney HomePlace has welcomed many of the world’s most esteemed luminaries in the arts, and this season is no exception. The Winter/Spring 2025 Arts Programme showcases celebrated authors such as Lionel Shriver and David Nicholls, alongside musical performances from Kieran Goss and Briana Corrigan.

While literature remains the focal point of this season, a vibrant mix of music, film, and conversation will make for an exciting start to the New Year.

One of highlights of the Winter/Spring 2025 programme is the newly redesigned seating in The Helicon. After months of planning and hard work behind the scenes, Seamus Heaney HomePlace is thrilled to unveil improved seating for guests. Cathy Brown, Manager at Seamus Heaney HomePlace, commented: “Given our ongoing commitment to high-quality customer experience, we are installing new seating which will feature individual seats with arm rests to enhance audience comfort and enjoyment.”

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of Seamus Heaney’s celebrated poetry collection North, and to commemorate this milestone, Seamus Heaney HomePlace will host a series of special events. The celebrations will begin on Friday 21st February with Professor Turi King who will discuss her high-profile forensic work, including the famous discovery of the ‘Bog Body’ in Bellaghy. On Sunday 23rd February, actor Paul McGann and pianist Charles Owens will present an enchanting evening of readings from North and piano solos, intertwining Heaney’s poetry with evocative music.

The upcoming Winter/Spring 2025 programme also includes many other exciting events that you won’t want to miss.

On Saturday 8th February, award-winning American poet Billy Collins will join poet Paula Meehan for a reading and conversation about his extraordinary career.

Join restaurant critic Jay Rayner and chef Paula McIntyre on Saturday 22nd March for a culinary celebration as they explore the people, places, and stories that have shaped Rayner’s career.

Acclaimed author and journalist Lionel Shriver will discuss her novel Mania in conversation with Carlo Gébler on Thursday 27th March.

Seamus Heaney HomePlace is delighted to welcome back one of Ireland’s most renowned singer-songwriters, Kieran Goss, with Annie Kinsella for an intimate performance on Saturday 29th March. The evening will feature new and unreleased songs.

Thursday 3rd April will see best-selling author David Nicholls take to The Helicon stage in conversation with John Self. They will discuss the smash-hit Netflix adaptation of his novel One Day, as well as his other works.

On Saturday 12th April, Scottish music legend Barbara Dickson will perform an acoustic set with pianist Nick Holland. They will be joined by special guest Anthony Toner who is celebrated for his poetic lyrics and mastery of fingerstyle guitar.

Briana Corrigan returns on Friday 25th April for an exclusive performance following the success of her sell-out show last year. Enjoy an evening of captivating stories and songs.

This season promises to be a vibrant celebration of artistic expression, uniting the best in music, literature, and performance.
