Lo & Slo's Wild & Fired BBQ School offers an immersive, interactive experience combining foraging, dining, and BBQ workshops in a historic, private walled garden, showcasing Northern Irish culture through locally sourced food. 

Experience the ancient art of cooking with fire in a modern, engaging, and fun setting! You will 'Taste the Landscape' and appreciate the difference that local, slow farming makes to the best of Northern Irish produce. You will smell, feel, and touch the unique responsibly sourced fuel used in effective BBQ fire cooking including historic hardwood oak from Brook Hall Estate & Gardens.

Conveniently located just minutes from the centre of the historic City of Derry~Londonderry and the official start of the captivating Wild Atlantic Way, this venue offers an accessible escape. Whether you're a BBQ beginner or enthusiast, a group seeking a unique team-building experience, or planning a special celebration, these expertly crafted sessions have something for everyone. Savour bold flavours, enjoy hands-on learning and create unforgettable memories!

What's Included:

  • A private tour through the historic grounds of Brook Hall Estate & Gardens to the BBQ area
  • A warm welcome and a smoky snack upon arrival
  • An introduction to Wild & Fired BBQ School with an overview of equipment and their specific uses
  • 'Taste the Landscape' and appreciate the difference that local, slow farming makes to Northern Irish produce
  • A fun, hands-on class making the smoked and flame-cooked menu using the finest selection of high-grade charcoals and hardwoods (including Irish oak from the estate and select 'ironwood' from Namibia)
  • Guests will get to sample Lo & Slo's award-winning sauces and seasonings with their meals comprised of the finest local ingredients
  • Guests will relax and enjoy a delicious local alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage paired with their meals

  • All specialised cooking equipment is premium quality UK & Irish made.
  • Good toilet and hand-washing facilities are available.
  • This is primarily an outdoor experience so please dress appropriately for all weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.

  • Supported by our team, we can provide translations in other languages. To avoid disappointment, we would appreciate 5 days advance notice for this requirement.
