In this workshop you will gain an insight into some of these arpilleras (three dimensional textiles originating from Latin America which became a tool for Chilean women to stitch their lived experiences of the Pinochet dictatorship - 1973 - 1990).
You will have an opportunity to make an arpillera doll in response to the arpilleras viewed.
Basic materials will be provided and the emphasis is on working with scraps/recycled material.
Please bring a scrap of fabric which has a special significance to you.
No sewing experience is needed.
