About

Ever wished you could write and record your very own or a family member's personal story but have no idea where, when or how to start? If yes, then this upbeat, exciting and creative mini-memoir Culture Night workshop is specifically for you!

Led by the award-winning author DAVE DUGGAN, each participant will be invited to write a first draft of a specific memory and, by the end of the workshop, will leave with a personal piece of writing that should help stir more memories and inspire further writing.
An extra highlight will include Dave reading some excerpts from his much-anticipated collection of essays, JOURNEYWORK - A CREATIVE LIFE due release this autumn from the Nerve Centre.

DAVE DUGGAN lives in Derry. His work, in both English and Irish, includes five novels, 20 stage plays (one of which toured in Afghanistan), a dozen radio dramas (on BBC and RTÉ), a blog [see: https://breathingwithalimp.blogspot.com ] plus an Oscar-nominated short film.

No previous writing experience is necessary but a desire to write a personal or family memory is. Booking is essential to reserve one of 20 places. Pens, paper and hot drinks will be supplied.
