Built just inside the walled area on Newmarket Street is the Millennium Forum, opened in 2001. The first purpose built theatre in the city it has seating for 1000 and has the largest theatre stage in Ireland.

The Millennium Forum offers a challenging and vibrant programme of events from drama to dance, comedy to musicals and light entertainment to children’s shows. We also have the largest conference and exhibition facility in the North West which operates to the highest national and international standards. Our conferences can accommodate up to 1000 delegates.A variety of spaces are available within this state-of-the art building; its 8 independent meeting rooms can accommodate a huge array of events, large or small and they have the facilities to cater for conferences, seminars, fairs, exhibitions, banquets, lectures, business meetings, press launches and executive interviews.
