From Monday May 24th we are delighted welcome back our attractions, museums and hotels as they reopen their doors to visitors once again.
To help you plan out your visit to Derry – Londonderry, we’ve put together a handy list of all the attractions opening over the next few weeks and with information about how to book.
Before visiting, we would recommend you check out each venue to make sure they are open and what booking systems are currently in place.
This list is updated on daily basis.
Tower Museum
Opening Times: Monday – Sunday 09.00 – 17.30 (last admission 16.00) Admission £4.00 adult / £2.40 concession / £2.00 child / £10.00 family (2 adults and 3 children)
The Tower Museum is self-guided but guided tours can be booked in advance – £2.00 per person.
Located within the historic city walls of Derry~Londonderry the Tower Museum is a must see visitor attraction. With permanent exhibitions at the museum including The Story of Derry and An Armada Shipwreck – La Trinidad Valencera, and a temporary exhibition space, the Tower Museum should be top of your list for places to visit this summer!
Museum of Free Derry
Re-opening Thursday 27TH May Thurs- Sat 10am – 4pm Last admission 30 munutes before closing Admission: £7 adult, £6 concession, £5pp group.
The Museum of Free Derry was established by the Bloody Sunday Trust in 2006 and offers a full multi-media exhibition on the civil rights and early conflict era in the city, including Battle of the Bogside, Internment, Bloody Sunday and Operation Motorman.
The Siege Museum
Reopening 24th May
Monday – Saturday 10am – 5pm
The Siege Museum and Exhibition is a permanent display of the history of the Siege of Londonderry and of the Associated Clubs of the Apprentice Boys of Derry. A treasure house of artefacts, from past to present. Based over three floors, the exhibition offers and educational and interactive visitor experience.
The Guildhall
Reopening 24th May
Monday – Friday (9.00am opening hours, last admission 7.00pm. The Guildhall closes at 8.00pm).
Saturday and Sunday (9.00am opening hours, last admission 5.00pm. The Guildhall closes at 6.00pm).
The Guildhall is one of Derry’s most recognisable landmarks that has been at the heart of city life since 1890. As well as being home to the Council’s chamber and Mayor’s Parlour, the Guildhall is a must see visitor attraction where you can be sure of a warm welcome.
Seamus Heaney HomePlace
Reopening Wednesday 26th May
Tickets are available now and pre-booking is recommended.
Seamus Heaney HomePlace is a purpose-built arts and literary centre, which celebrates the life and work of the late poet and Nobel Laureate, Seamus Heaney, and contributes to his legacy.
Oakfield Park
Oakfield Park Open Wed to Sun from 12 to 6pm.
Oakfield Park is a privately owned estate and railway, which has won several National awards for the restoration of its gardens and buildings. Sitting in a lush landscape of parklands, lakes, mature woodlands, overlooking the distant Croaghan Mountain, the grounds include a hedge maze, sculpture and miles of walking paths.
