Loganair’s new service between London Heathrow Airport and City of Derry Airport marks a significant milestone in the growth and development of City of Derry, not only providing frequent air access to one of the world’s leading transport hubs, but also creating a fast and convenient gateway for outbound travel and inbound tourism opportunities via the Northwest.

Local people are being encouraged to explore the beauty of Derry and Donegal as part of a newly launched cross-border tourism campaign.

The Best of the North West campaign showcases the many wonderful attractions located right on our doorstep, led by Donegal County Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council, working in partnership with Visit Derry & Donegal Tourism CLG.

Anyone looking for the perfect way to start to summer should look no further than Derry, where the programme was unveiled today for the biggest Jazz celebration in the country – the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival.

The wind ensemble and chamber orchestra from Santa Monica High School is making their journey from sunny California and will be performing at  the Waterside Theatre in the vibrant city of Derry. These skillful musicians come from a programme of highly trained musicians, totaling up a whopping 11 ensembles with more than 250 students in the entirety of Santa Monica’s music programme.

A selection of some of the famous props and memorabilia from the Derry Girls series was unveiled at Visit Derry today, to give a taster of a new exhibition set to enthral fans of the hit show in the Tower Museum from July.

Anyone feeling a bit forlorn since the curtains closed on hit comedy show Derry Girls, will be delighted to have the chance to see some familiar items from the series on display at Visit Derry next week.

Derry City and Strabane District Council have announced a comprehensive programme of music, dance and performance for the city’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations on Friday March 17th.

On 23-26 March, Walled City Music Festival will bring together Young Artists from Northern Ireland Opera, the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Walled City Music Piano Festival to take part in a series of education projects during its festival week, culminating in a Festival-closing performance by the students in the beautiful surroundings of the Great Hall, Ulster University Magee.

Le Foyer des Artistes, Derry City’s resident classical orchestra, invites six young singers to perform on 16 March 2023 at Saint Columb’s Hall. 

Come and hear tomorrow’s stars when they perform at Saint Columb’s Hall. Le Foyer des Artistes has a week-long workshop called The Young Singers Collective. The aim is to discover and promote emerging talents on the cusp of an international singing career.

The Walled City Music Festival has announced an exciting international line-up of guest artists for March 23-26, 2023. Solo pianist Barry Douglas, cellist Raphael Wallfisch with pianist Cathal Breslin, and mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty with pianist Fiachra Garvey, are all set to perform in Derry’s beautiful Christ Church venue in March.
