Christ Church is 15-minute away from the Walled City of Derry, situated by the impressive St. Eugene's RC Cathedral and adjacent to Derry's Bogside monuments and museums related to the Troubles. The original structure, built in 1830 was extended in the 1880s with a large gallery, beautiful stained glass and the grand Wells-Kennedy Organ.
Parish records date back to the 1850s and the War Memorial commemorates 54 young men killed in the First World War. In the South Transcept a stained-glass window and recall three Williams brothers killed in that war. Christ Church has a concert area, grand piano and is renowned for its outstanding concert acoustics, considered among the finest in Ireland.
