About
Carlisle Road Methodist Church was opened in 1903.
It was designed by AA Forman and is theatrical in style with sloping aisles and a curved balcony. The pulpit is in front of the pipe organ and it is one of the finest pipe organs in the city. The buildings incorporate a series of Halls, meeting rooms, kitchen, etc
The outside of the Building is in the neo-gothic style with a delicate spire and flying buttress. This stunning sandstone church is considered one of the finest in Irish Methodism.
The founders of Methodism were Charles and John Wesley with John Wesley visiting the city in 1765. Charles Wesley wrote over 650 hymns and some of them are being played in our church today.
A display about our church building and the Wesley brothers is on in our Wesley hall.
