Getting to the North West has never been easier.
Did you know Derry City is just a three hour drive from Dublin and a 90 minute drive from Belfast, while neighbouring Donegal is only an additional 15 minutes away.
Air
If you’re travelling by air then why not reach us at our local airport, City of Derry Airport, which has direct access from London Stansted, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Manchester.
Or, fly to Belfast International Airport or Belfast City Airport and hop on the Airporter which will take you directly into the city centre.
Donegal Airport is located in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht.
Sea
The North West is serviced by first-class ferry connections to Belfast and Larne with Scotland, England and the Isle of Man.
There are regular, scheduled ferry services operate between Northern Ireland and Great Britain (Stranraer & Cairnryan in Scotland and Liverpool in England) bringing both foot passengers, cars and other vehicles into the area through two ferry ports, Belfast and Larne.
There is also ferry service available from Wales via Dublin's two ports, Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire. Irish Ferries operate from Dublin Port to Holyhead, Wales and Stena Line's HSS (High Speed Sea Service) operates from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire.
Car
Many visitors from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland choose to travel to the North West by car. It is important to note that the M50 is a tolled road which uses barrier free electronic camera technology instead of toll booths to collect the tolls. This ensures quicker, more fuel efficient journey.
The barrier free tolling point is located between Junction 6 (Blanchardstown) and Junction 7 (Lucan) on the M50. Road users can not pay with cash at the toll and must pay the M50 toll up to two weeks in advance or by 8pm next day deadline online.
You can also make one off payment at one of the numerous Payzone retail outlets dotted across the Republic of Ireland.
